Pasta Romagna

If you ever find yourself wandering around Leeds and craving a hearty Italian bite, Pasta Romagna at 26 Albion Place might just be your next favorite stop. This charming little spot oozes that old-school trattoria vibe-homey, warm, and full of comforting aromas that hit you the moment you walk through its wheelchair-accessible entrance. It's especially popular during lunch and dinner hours, drawing in solo diners and regulars who know where to find proper Italian comfort food.

What sets Pasta Romagna apart? It’s not a flashy, modern fusion joint. It’s a classic-straightforward, reliable, and refreshingly authentic. Their focus is clearly on flavor and tradition. Think handmade pasta, fresh mozzarella, and simple but well-balanced sauces. If you're all about the food (and not the fuss), you’re in the right place.

Start with something like the Caprese Salad or a small plate of Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli-both popular choices that highlight the quality of ingredients. Then move on to a standout: the Lasagna. It’s rich, generously portioned, and layered with depth. Another hit is the Spaghetti with Meatballs, a dish that’s got that rustic, slow-cooked tomato sauce clinging to perfectly cooked noodles. For something a little lighter but no less satisfying, the Penne Pomodoro offers a fresh tomato kick balanced by herbs and olive oil.

Craving pizza instead? You’re covered. The Pepperoni Pizza (12-inch) has a thin crust with just the right char and chew, while the 8” Margherita keeps it simple and elegant with sweet tomato sauce, creamy mozzarella, and fragrant basil. If you’re in the mood for something bold, the Marinara Pizza brings in a deeper, garlicky flavor that pairs well with their house beer or wine offerings.

Let’s not forget the creamy side of things-Creamy Chicken and Mushroom Tagliatelle is the sort of dish that wraps you in a warm hug, blending silky pasta ribbons with a rich, earthy sauce. It’s hearty but balanced. And if you’re after something protein-packed, their Pasta Bolognese does not disappoint, especially with a sprinkle of parmesan and cracked black pepper.

One thing that surprised me? Their English Breakfast. It may sound out of place in an Italian restaurant, but it’s well-executed and actually makes for a solid brunch option. This versatility is part of what makes Pasta Romagna special-they’re not bound by pretension or a strict menu concept. You’ll also find quick bites and small plates for those who just want to pop in for something light or on-the-go.

Now, let’s talk desserts. The Cannoli Pistachio is the star here-crisp shell, smooth filling, and just the right amount of crunch from crushed nuts. For coffee lovers, their espresso is a must. It’s rich, bold, and served with that European flair that makes you want to sip slowly and people-watch. If you lean toward sweet endings, grab a Canoli (yes, with one “n” on their menu) alongside a glass of wine or beer, and you’ve got yourself a little slice of Italian dolce vita.

The outdoor seating area is a great bonus when the Leeds weather behaves. It’s perfect for a relaxed lunch or even a quiet solo dinner. Service is quick and friendly, with staff who seem genuinely happy to recommend dishes or modify orders if needed. And for those who want to grab food and go, Pasta Romagna offers takeaway, although there’s no delivery option-so you’ll have to swing by in person.

Another little perk: the space is wheelchair-accessible throughout, with easy seating and thoughtful layout. Whether you’re meeting a friend for lunch, grabbing a quick bite between meetings, or just in the mood for Italian classics done right, Pasta Romagna nails the essentials.

This is one of those places that keeps things simple-but executes with soul. From the linguine with meatballs to the Pasta with Mozzarella, every dish feels familiar but elevated. And when paired with a cold beer or a warm espresso? You’re golden.

Me and my boyfriend went on a date here and the food was amazing, you pay when you order which I'm not used to. It's quite small but not over crowded, you could hear what each other was saying, the food came out in about 10 minutes and was piping hot. All home cooked, 10/10 would recommend.

Love it. Great food but more importantly great coffee. My go to if I need a boost. Couldn't recommend enough. I've brought loads of people and they've all loved it. I only wish I could have brought my Nonno here as he would have loved it. Managers are very Italian, which some British people might find rude but I know that there's no intention behind the "rudeness". It's just very matter of fact, which can be a shock to some but not those of us who grew up with Italian family. Service is quick. No forty minute wait for a cappuccino. Even more importantly the staff actually make an effort to remember patrons which isn't the case in most places in town.

Loved the pizza and pasta! We got a table outside and it was very enjoyable with the nice weather. Food was fairly priced, in my opinion, and I liked that they were generous with the pizza toppings! Cakes looked very nice but unfortunately they had ran out of them by the time we reached dessert.

Fabulous restaurant in Leeds, serving great, authentic Italian food. Nice, busy atmosphere with fairly quick and efficient service. It's very reasonably priced as well. Has a great selection of pastas and pizzas, with good size helpings. Decent desserts and cakes as well as well as good coffee. I can highly recommend this place, and I can't wait to go again.

Authentic italian street cafe / restaurant, serving great classic simple Italian food from pizzas to pasta and others items. Walked past this place endlessly. Always busy seats outside. Reasonable prices. Have to say had some of the best pasta I've tasted.
